Focus and Scope

Reabilitacijos mokslai: slauga, kineziterapija, ergoterapija (Eng. Rehabilitation Sciences: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) is a peer-reviewed, Open Access journal with regular issues published biannually, and special supplementary issues published at the discretion of the Editorial Team in an online-only format. The journal publishes scientifically rigorous and methodologically sound research that contributes to the international evidence base in rehabilitation sciences, including Physiotherapy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and injury and disease prevention.

The journal prioritises manuscripts that demonstrate novelty, methodological quality, and measurable contribution to the field, with particular emphasis on studies that have clear clinical applicability and potential impact on rehabilitation outcomes, healthcare practice, and health policy.

The journal accepts original research articles, systematic reviews, literature reviews, and meta-analyses, with a preference for contributions that strengthen evidence-based practice, synthesise high-level evidence, and address gaps in current knowledge. Interdisciplinary and international submissions are strongly encouraged. The journal also publishes conference materials within the scope of the journal.

All submissions must present original work that has not been previously published, except in the form of preliminary reports. Manuscripts must adhere to high standards of scientific integrity, transparency, and reporting quality.

The journal is intended for an international audience of researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, educators, and policy-makers working in the fields of rehabilitation sciences, including Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy. It also serves postgraduate and doctoral students, as well as other specialists interested in evidence-based practice, clinical outcomes, and advancements in rehabilitation and healthcare.

Language

Since the second half of 2025, the journal publishes exclusively English language publications to ensure international accessibility, discoverability, and citation potential.

Peer Review

The journal operates a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Submissions are evaluated by independent experts based on originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Journal Policy and Publishing Standards

The journal adheres to internationally recognised publishing and ethical standards (e.g. transparency, research integrity, and publication ethics). Editorial processes are structured and documented to ensure consistency, accountability, and quality control.

All publications have assigned Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent identification and reliable citation. The journal implements recognised standards for metadata, referencing, and publication structuring to enhance indexing, discoverability, and interoperability across databases.

Clinical Trial Registration and Reporting Standards

The journal requires that all clinical trials be prospectively registered in a publicly accessible registry, such as ClinicalTrials.gov or another registry recognised by the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform. The trial registration number and registry details must be provided in the manuscript (preferably in the abstract and Methods section, as well as in the declarations following conclusions).

The journal follows the definition of a clinical trial established by the World Health Organization and requires compliance with internationally accepted standards for transparency and research integrity.

Reports of randomised controlled trials must adhere to the CONSORT Statement. Authors are required to submit a completed CONSORT Checklist and Flow Diagram alongside their manuscript to ensure comprehensive and transparent reporting.

Digital Archiving and Preservation

The journal ensures long-term digital preservation and accessibility of its content through established archiving solutions and repository systems. Publications are stored in secure digital environments to guarantee continued access, stability, and integrity of the scholarly record. Authors may also archive the final published version of their work in personal, institutional or other repositories without embargo. The electronic versions of all publications affiliated to Lithuanian research and higher education institutions are stored at the Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library (eLABa), as a national aggregated open access (OA) repository.
