About the Journal

eISSN: 2345-0339

Focus and scope. The journal aims to highlight science communication in the transition to an active postmodern society re-orienting services from global concepts to diversification strategies and the diversity of paradigms.

The novelty of the journal Laisvalaikio tyrimai (Eng. Leisure Time Research) is revealed studying the links between the components of knowledge-based economy facing transformations - leisure services and business sectors. In this way the range of social science is extended, new interdisciplinary knowledge is developed, and the activities of business organizations acquire additional social and cultural characteristics.

Science communication is a way for scientists not only to create knowledge, but also to exchange and save it, to observe changes in research results. Therefore, it is expected that research in this Journal will help researchers clarify the research problem, share new ideas, formulate questions, develop creative solutions to the experimental and theoretical problems, as well as disseminate research findings and ensure feedback.

Leisure and recreation activities have taken on new meanings in people’s lives. Thus, the most important issues in the journal Laisvalaikio tyrimai (Eng. Leisure Time Research) are construction of social relations in the sector of leisure and recreation services, which is based on cooperation and integration of social sciences and researchers.

The Journal primarily publishes original research articles. Authors are invited to submit empirical and theoretical articles that complement the knowledge of social science with new aspects, provide original research results, expand the notion of the quality of life and leisure, and have practical implications for professional activities. The journal includes various studies in which the data are analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively, using a variety of statistical methods for the analysis.

Publications including leisure time research are not numerous, although the area is very broad. Therefore, we expect research papers on the development of social sciences. We hope that the Journal will promote discussions in the Lithuanian and world scientific and academic communities; help readers analyze, evaluate and develop their approach to interdisciplinary and specific problems in certain fields of science. Laisvalaikio tyrimai (Eng. Leisure Time Research) is an online scientific journal which ensures its readers open access to research results, the quality and dissemination of information preservation.
